Kraatz proudly collaborated with Hangana Seafood, a fellow O&L operating company, on the repair and maintenance of the Zogi, a fishing trawler in Namibia's white fish (hake) industry. The vessel underwent essential bulwark and hull repairs at the dry dock and received additional upgrades, including the fabrication of alternator bases and hydraulic pipelines.
The fishing industry is one of the cornerstones on which the Namibian economy rests and therefore plays a significant role in providing employment opportunities and sustaining our communities. Namibia's fishing industry is the country's second biggest export earner of foreign currency after mining. In 2023 the Namibian fishing industry maintained its status as the third-largest contributor to the nation’s Gross Domestic Product.
Kraatz was passionately committed to ensuring that the Zogi returned to the sea stronger than ever, thereby continuing to contribute to Namibia's prosperity.
