Kraatz employees were thrilled at the chance to embark on a brief excursion to witness the ongoing Seamount Explorer’s bow repair project.

‍Kraatz was responsible for the comprehensive repair of the Seamount Explorer after severe damage to its bow caused by an unfortunate collision. The scope of this estimated 22-ton mild steel project encompassed the replacement of frames, decks and hull, along with the removal of damaged shell plating and piping.

‍It further involved the fabrication and repair of a new base, hydraulic, suction and filtration lines, filter housings and manifold and coatings.

The Marine & Offshore and Workshop teams were relentlessly dedicated and met the deadline. Great work all around.
