In the uranium extraction process the ore is crushed and then further ground into smaller particles by the ball mill, liberating the uranium minerals from the surrounding rock matrix. Once the ore is finely ground, it undergoes a leaching process which involves using chemicals to dissolve the uranium from the ore and is now sent for further processing.
